On February 5th, the first working day after the Chinese New Year holiday, the Guangdong Provincial High-quality Development Conference was about to outline an ambitious blueprint for high-quality economic development in Guangdong.

At the conference, robots showcased their full range of capabilities, leaving the audience in awe.

"Happy New Year! Wishing everyone a prosperous year!" A full-sized humanoid robot named "Li-Gong D1", brought by Guangzhou Li-Gong, greeted the audience in Cantonese, drawing rounds of applause.

Guangzhou Automobile Group also presented the third-generation embodied intelligent humanoid robot GoMate, which can not only run and jump but also climb stairs and cross grassy areas with ease, demonstrating the increasing human-like capabilities of Guangdong-made robots.

The rise of Guangdong's robotics industry is a microcosm of the leap from "Made in China" to "Smart Made in China". In 2023, China's installed base of industrial robots accounted for more than half of the global total, making it the world's largest industrial robot market for 11 consecutive years. The density of robots reached 470 units per 10,000 employees, about twice that of the United States. Many automated factories have truly become "lights-out factories".
