Multinationals on China | NIQ’s Andrew Criezis: China is setting the pace of innovation

Editor’s Note: Since the reform and opening-up, China has undergone profound transformations, with foreign multinational companies playing a key role. As important participants, they have provided indispensable momentum for China’s journey toward high-quality development. Meanwhile, the global expansion of Chinese multinational enterprises has brought new energy to the nation’s growth. As celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, we are launching the special coverage "Multinationals on China" to review the course of China’s high-level opening-up.  

In an interview with SFC, Andrew Criezis, the President of E-Commerce & SMB at NIQ, shared his insights on the question of how to help SMEs in China that have grown on the internet. He emphasized the importance of an omni-channel approach to long-term growth, considering both online and in-store purchases to capture the full consumer wallet.

When talking about innovation, he noted, "What's truly amazing now, what I've seen in China, is just the pace of innovation around, new flavors, new adaptations coming to products." He predicts that AI will continue to be a significant force in driving innovation, creating new product experiences, and expanding into new categories.
